Your mission

You are responsible for the strategic product direction in alignment with our company vision, mission and strategy.
As a C-Level and leader of this function, you are a role model for our team and an active, visible Executive of our company within our management team.
At the end of the day, we want to ensure we build the best SaaS+ solution in the people photography market.
The GotPhoto SaaS platform helps school photographers streamline their workflow and ensure that they can easily manage large photo shoots and print amazing products their customers want.
GotPhoto is a profitable startup that has been around since 2010.
Our culture is one of a positive business model, with the mindset “we make photographers more successful”. Photographers, parents, schools, and labs are better off when using our software. Our team members are crucial for this success!
As you might be curious to get to know our customers as well:
Here’s some first hand insight from our photographers.
Your role
First things first: We'd like to introduce you to your team ...
Our Product Team
The Product team is a newly established team within our organization and currently consists of 8 amazing talents (3 talents in Product Design, 5 talents in Product Management); however, we're continuing to hire and grow the team.
Most of our team are based in Berlin and USA, this role is a fully remote position based in either Germany, Portugal or Spain.
The Management Team is currently fully based in Germany (Berlin).
If you enjoy going to an office then we would love to help you relocate to Berlin, just ask our recruiting team about it when you speak to them.
Your role and responsibilities
You are an essential part of our leadership team, which consists of our CEO, CFO, COO, CTO and Head of People & Culture. We are hiring an additional CMO and (obviously) our CPO :)
As a CPO you will be reporting to our CEO and be fully responsible for our Product team and strategy.
At the same time, you will closely collaborate with our CTO and follow a highly cross-functional approach in managing our product endeavours.
Below we describe what we’re looking for and how we outline your role:
Product Strategy:
You represent and shape the Product strategy; you do so, by making sure relevant stakeholders and our CEO are aligned with your ideas and it buys into the company strategy. Your aim should be to effectively work with all parts of the organization and support GotPhoto in creating the best SaaS solution for our photographers.
You are responsible for the “Why” of the product and how to differentiate and position our product. You must then align the company around the overarching product vision. We believe in ownership, while not creating islands and silos - therefore the management team, and especially our CEO, will be a strong sparring partner to give insights and support you in creating this vision!
As a strategic thinker, you envision what may happen in the future, instead of focusing on what is directly ahead. You look across different industries to see the big picture, analyze large volumes of information to spot trends, and offer new approaches to old problems.
You create a product & partner strategy and a detailed roadmap to fulfill and meet various OKRs. You do so, to assure we measure product performance and create sustainable solutions.
- You oversee the budget and spendings in your function, and make sure they are in line with the company’s financial goals.
Inspire & Lead:
Customer focus:
One of your crucial responsibilities is to deeply understand the problems, needs, and desires of customers. The customer discovery conducted by the CPO (and other members of the product team) are necessary to build excellent product experiences, identify proper positioning in the market, and more.
You are always well connected within the industry, know the trends and new challenges arising.
You are not shy of travelling to tradeshows, meetups, customer meetings in order to get to know the market better and better over time
Data & Research:
You use research data to plan improvements and differentiate the product from our competitors.
As the CPO, you make objective, data-driven decisions. You define the metrics related to product performance and track them on an ongoing basis.
By measuring and tracking our data points, you also ensure the product continues to adjust to changing conditions and satisfies the overall organizational objectives.
