(Senior) Business Analyst (f/m/d)

Your mission

We are hiring a BI analyst for our Data team. You will be responsible for researching, developing, and implementing data-gathering methods. You will apply and extend your experience in data analysis to report back on your findings and suggest solutions.

At the end of the day, we want to ensure we build the best e-commerce solution in the photography market.

The GotPhoto SaaS platform helps school photographers streamline their workflow and ensure that they can easily manage large photo shoots and print amazing products their customers want. GotPhoto is a profitable startup that has been around since 2010.

Our stack

We take a pragmatic approach to building products and systems that work for our customers. We are mainly on the AWS Platform (RDS, Snowflake). We also use GitLab, Jira, and Confluence. We also use StitchData for ELT. We use Metabase for database exploration, and building dashboards and reports. 
Since our business has complex use cases, we keep the cognitive load for our Devs as low as possible so they focus on solving problems rather than configuring tech.
We follow Agile development and have synchronous and asynchronous communication. We love to collaborate, you will find us regularly sharing tips and tricks during our brown bag lunches, organising hackathons, and pair coding to solve our most complex problems.

Our Team

The Data team is a newly established team in our organization with Ahmed as our Head of Data and the team will grow to 5 team members overall. 
Most of our teams are based in Berlin but this role is a fully remote position based in Europe, ideally, you are within a 2-hour time difference of Berlin because we want you to have a good balance between work and your personal life.
You will work with Product, QA, Engineers, and Business stakeholders and report to our Head of Data.

Your role

  • Create Dashboards using Metabase

  • Create reports based on business needs

  • Perform Data visualization, Analytics using Statistics tools, (preferably Metabase, Snowflake)

  • Communicate with stakeholders to analyze, document, and validate business needs as required

Skills we are looking for

  • Very profound experience in working with SQL/MySQL/Postgresql and Metabase

  • Good understanding of warehouse technical architectures, infrastructure components, ETL/ELT, reporting/analytic tools environments, and data structures

  • You have a university degree in statistics, mathematics, or engineering

  • You speak very good English, so communication in our international environment is no problem for you

  • You are an expert in handling structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data

  • You have a profound knowledge of data modeling techniques and good skills in quantitative statistics

  • You have excellent communication skills and collaborative mindset and can explain your solutions to experts and non-experts alike

  • Nice to have: Python, AWS, Amplitude
